Alarcón is a village in central Spain and it belongs to the province of Cuenca. It is 87 kilometers away from the city of Cuenca and 187 km away from Madrid. It is surrounded by many hills and it is located on 60-metre high cliffs.
Alarcón is a medieval place with narrow streets, centuries-old houses, churches, a large Pedestrian Square and a castle.
Alarcón was probably founded by the Visigoth King Alaric II (originally Alarico II).The castle is an 8th-century Moorish fortress situated in the most dominant place in the village. From that fortress you can enjoy an outstanding view.
