A diversified city
Barcelona is a very modern city, but it is also one of those Spanish cities that love their culture and fight to keep it alive, attracting millions of tourists with its help. Barcelona is world renowned for being a lovely mixture of museums, architectural styles and festivals.
It is the city that hosts the works of the great Antoni Gaudi and the place where you have the opportunity to taste the most delicious Catalan dishes. The architecture and the museums
Barcelona is famous in Spain, and actually in the entire world, for being representative for the modernist architecture. It is impossible not to fall in love with the architecture of Antoni Gaudi, with his Casa Mila, Park Guell or La Sagrada Familia Cathedral.
When it comes to the museums, you should know that you have about 50 to visit (if you need a tip, then you should know the fact that on every first Monday of the month, most of them offer free entries). Your list of museums to visit should include the Catalan History Museum, the Catalan Art Museum and the Picasso Museum.
The festivals and the food
Spain is famous for its festivals, and b is no exception to the rule. The most popular festival in Barcelona is La Merce, which celebrates the patron saint of the city.

The theatres and the art galleries
If you want to watch a spectacular play, go to the Catalan National Theatre, but if you want to see how the most famous opera singers of the world started their careers, the Teatre del Liceu is the right place for you.
The art galleries attract all those tourists who are in love with art, regardless of its form; most of the art galleries celebrate the great Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali or Joan Miro, all of them of great importance for the cultural heritage of Barcelona.
