Beautiful Parks In Alicante
Alicante is a very beautiful city with lovely gardens and parks that attract the interest of tourists as they represent very relaxing and quiet places where they can run away from the agitation of the big city. One of the first things that you have to do while in Alicante is to visit the promenade; the fact that Alicante looks towards the perfectly blue sea makes this promenade one of the most outstanding in Spain, so a visit here is a ‘’must’’ on your list.
You will have the chance to enjoy the beauty of the rows of palm trees, the music played by the wonderful Municipal Band and the charming terraces where you can have a nice chat with your friends, tasting a good drink and delicious traditional dishes.
The Canalejas Park
The Canalejas Park is known as being the oldest in Alicante; it will impress you right from the entrance as the gates are guarded by imposing sculptures representing lions and dogs. Built in 1886, the Park was designed by the famous Gonzales Altes and along its alleys tourists can enjoy a beautiful map of the country carved in wood, an enormous ficus of more than one hundred years old and many monuments that will attract their attention.
Visiting El Palmeral and El Benacantil
El Palmeral is located right next to the beautiful sea and what attracts tourists to it is the spectacular palm trees plantation. It is a delightful place in Alicante, full of fountains, waterfalls and hundreds of flower beds. El Benacantil is known as being the green lung of Alicante as it occupies an entire hill with hundreds of pine trees. If you follow the road that leads to the popular Santa Barbara Castle, you will have several viewpoints that offer breathtaking views of Alicante.
La Explanada
The outstanding promenade is also the most popular in the city. What most attracts tourists to this promenade is the pavement formed of three types of marble: black, cream and red. The palm trees, the numerous fountains, the walkways and the lively terraces create a wonderful atmosphere that I am sure you will love.
The Ereta Park
The Ereta Park waits for its visitors in the Old Quarter of the city and it is one of those parks in Spain designed to be an area that reminds of the wild and natural parts of the country. You will definitely fall in love with it!
