Best Beaches in Spain
Nerja, Costa del Sol, Andalusia – is situated at a distance of 50 KM from Malaga on the seashore. The length of all the beaches is 16 KM and the water here is clear and sparkling. The beaches no doubt are very scenic but there is fine grey sand on them whereas golden sand beaches are more popular.
You can play most of the water sports here which include water skiing, sailing and scuba diving. You can also rent shades and sun beds. There are bars and restaurants.
Burriana beach has won awards number of times because of pure un-spoilt sand and water. Playa Calahonda is a sheltered beach that is popular and is on the eastern side of Balcon de Europa. Playa el Salón is on the other side of Balcon de Europa and is quite busy.
La Barrosa, Chiclana – is located at a distance of 6 KM from Chiclana town in Cadiz and has 8 KM of fine white sand and the water is blue and clear. This beach spans the Cano de Sancti Petri and El Puerco watchtower.
This beach is in two parts – urbanized part and untouched stretch. Beach shrubbery and sand dunes protect this beach. This beach is extremely clean and has been awarded European Blue flag award for cleanliness. It has the reputation of being the best beach on Andalusia coastline. Facilities include bars, restaurants, shower facilities, toilets, police station and Red Cross.
Tarifa, Andalusia – is a great beach for persons interested in windsurfing, watching whales and having a great nightlife with lots of fun. However the wind here is strong, thereby making it difficult to sunbathe. This beach is situated at the junction of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic which is novel about this place.
Gandia, Costa Brava – contains a number of towns that are small and has many pleasant beaches. Some of the towns are bigger than others. Gandia beach is more popular with Spanish tourists and local residents than foreign tourists.
Beaches in Santander – Santander is located between Basque country and Asturias. The beaches in this town are considered as some of the best because of the facilities available for swimming, sunbathing and relaxing. Lots of tourists visit this place in summer.
Some of the beaches here – Playa de la Magdalena and Playa de Valdearenas are popular with families because of the facilities for a range of water sports – surfing, windsurfing, etc. Five beaches in this place were awarded the European Union Blue Flag for facilities available and cleanliness.
