Costa Del Sol

Costa del Sol
The Coast of Sun, the English name for Costa del Sol, is one of the most visited coasts in Spain. The panoramas here are amazing and there are numerous pubs and bars where you can have a lot of fun. Mijas is the main city, and it includes both historical places and modern architectural style. It is practically divided into three parts: Las Laguna, Mijas Costa and Mijas Pueblo. Las Lagunas is more like a commercial area; the most important place here is the water Park Mijas.
Being available from April to September, the water park has a great variety of attractions for all ages. It is placed in the neighbourhood of Fuengirola and the environment is very youthfully arranged. Around this place you can also find a very nice golf course, one of the most visited in all Spain.
If you are still not convinced to go and see Las Lagunas de Mijas, then you should know that you can also ride a horse here: El Hipodromo is a special place where you can admire unique horses and even ride them.
Mijas Pueblo and Mijas Costa
The other two parts of Mijas are also the most visited ones. The one which has the most tourist attractions is definitely Mijas Pueblo; a great museum with microscopic items can be admired here. Plaza de Libertad is the one which houses Casa Museo and it’s also worth visiting; you can find out new things about the history of Mijas and about the history of Spain in general.
Do not forget to visit the Plaza of Torros, a very Spanish place, regarding the old tradition of bullfighting in Spain. Mijas Coast is more famous for its beautiful beaches; here you can also find some interesting shops where you can buy some souvenirs for your dear ones. La Cala De Mijas should definitely be on your “to see list”, as it contains a large number of specific restaurants and pubs, where you can taste the traditional Spanish food, including the popular tapas.
