Barcelona – a place that everyone should visit at least once
Barcelona does not need any introduction. The 1992 Olympic Games were held here. The city is rich in tradition and culture and is known for its natural beauty. There are many places of interest for the tourists in Barcelona and some of the places are introduced here:
Camp Nou:
This five star rated stadium with a seating capacity of 98772 was opened in 1957. This stadium can be reached by the local lane bus or even by metro. This stadium has been the playing ground for many important league matches like UEFA league football match, etc. The stadium has been the performance ground for many renowned artists like Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, etc.
La Sagrada Família:
Those who visit Barcelona should never miss this marvelous work and once they visit it, it tempts them to make one more visit. The church conceived by the famous Antoi Gaudi is the pinnacle of architectural excellence. Construction of this church which started in 1882 is yet to be finished and the scheduled time to complete the church is 2026.
The church is designed to have 18 different towers and each tower is dedicated to different religious faiths and each faith is designed to have different bells. All these bells will sound in a choir. Construction of unfinished portion of the church is being carried out with the income generated by tourism.
Barcelona Football Club museum:
This is one of those few sports clubs having more than 100000 memberships ever since it was started in 1899. With superb performance in the game of football, way back in 1920 Joan Gamper had suggested for a Barca museum but it became a reality only in 1984. This club is the only club in the world to collect its earlier trophies and prizes and exhibit it. The museum is grouped into many sections, while one section is dedicated to the awards and prizes; the other section depicts Tapies, Dali, etc.
The other section depicts the collections on the subject of football. This museum is located next to Camp Nou, the famous stadium. The visitors to the museum have two options, either visit the museum or visit the stadium. A visit to the stadium includes the place where lockers reserved for the players are located. The actual playing area, the press gallery, the podium where the president of the club is seated during the match, etc are the other places of interest which are related to the game of football.
