The city of Barcelona is known for diverse range of culture, architecture, nightlife and food. In fact, Barcelona is known as the most popular destination for tourists in Spain. The nightlife of Barcelona is quite thriving. You can check out Plaça Reial to catch a flamenco show, dine out at the Gràcia or enjoy the drinks at the Eixample. The city of Barcelona has enough to keep you entertained.
Parks and Beaches
Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia and is close to the French border. Starting from the south and heading towards the northeast, you can find a number of beaches where you can laze down under the sun, have a drink or simply watch people playing around in a lively atmosphere. Near the beaches, you can go for Parc de la Ciutadella that is known to have a lake and a zoo along with the Catalan Parliament.
The northern part of the city also contains several parks including the famous Antoni Gaudi’s Parc Güell. This park is known to have beautiful buildings and sculptures and twisting monuments that have been constructed by Gaudi in naturalist Art Nouveau style.
Passeig de Gràcia
You can explore the interesting architecture while you go for a walk along the Passeig de Gràcia. The Casa Mila and the Casa Batillo are two important buildings that showcases for Gaudi’s famous work. While the Casa Mila has wavy roof and rippling façade, the Casa Batillo is known for the remolded apartment building.
Other Disticts
The Port Olimpic that was created for hosting Summer Olympics 1992 is present near the beach of La Barceloneta. The place is ideal for those whom history always interests.
Montjuïc
Montjuïc is a green hill that is known for the Rock of Gibraltar and the Magic Fountain. You can also tour the Palau Nacional and also walk in the gardens of Montuic.
There are clubs, bars and restaurants present all over the city that makes Barcelona all the more vibrating. You can enjoy Spanish and Catalan wine along with some hearty Catalan cuisine here. All the bars and eateries are generally open till late night.
