It doesn’t really matter where you go in Spain. With thousands of kilometres of beaches, there is bound to be a spot close by that meets all your needs and those of your travelling companions! Read our blog about the 12 most beautiful beaches in Spain!
2. Amusement parks and zoos
Looking for something to do other than sun, sea and sand? Then pay a visit to an amusement park. Near Lloret de Mar is Waterworld, the largest water park in Europe. For the little ones, there are fun playgrounds, a pirate ship, a family lagoon and a lovely sunbathing lawn. For older children, there are exciting water slides and attractions. If you and your friends are real daredevils, let the adrenaline flow through your body in attractions such as Speed Furious and X-treme Mountain. Do you have nerves of steel? Then you and your friends can bungee jump in the same area; a day you won’t easily forget.
Waterworld is just one of the many amusement parks and zoos you can visit during your holiday in Spain. In Port Aventura near Salou on the Costa Dorada with countless attractions, fun is guaranteed for young and old. The Oceanogràfic in Valencia is the largest aquarium in Europe, where you can see dolphins, sharks and many unusual fish swimming around through the glass walls. In Benalmadena, you can visit the beautiful butterfly garden Mariposario de Benalmadena, where more than 1,500 exotic butterfly species from all over the world flutter around.
3. Sport: practise or watch?
Spaniards are huge sports fans, especially when it comes to football. Matches are often broadcast live on televisions in cafés or large screens on terraces. The same applies to cycling and other (major) sporting events. Unfortunately, if you are in Spain during the high season, football is out of action and attending a match is unlikely. However, would you like to see the inside of such a large and magical football stadium? Camp Nou, the home of the famous FC Barcelona is open all year round for a guided tour or a visit to the museum. Estado Mestalla of Valencia FC and La Rosaleda of Málaga CF are also open for visits.
Do you prefer to play sports yourself? Many Spanish beaches have all kinds of equipment to work on your fitness. There are often nets for playing beach volleyball and you can have a mini competition with your friends or against another group of beach volleyball players. Or play a round of golf on one of the many golf courses on the Costa Brava, Costa Blanca or near Marbella on the Costa del Sol. Even as a beginner you are welcome at most of the golf courses to come and play with your family or friends under the Spanish sun.
4. Boat trips: from sailing by yourself to mini-cruises and party boats
With thousands of kilometres of coastline, you can enjoy beautiful views not only from the beach over the sea but also the other way around. So be sure to hop on a boat and see Spain from the water. Board a catamaran or sailboat and feel the splashing water as you sunbathe on the deck. When the boat sets anchor, take a refreshing dip in the water or go snorkelling in search of colourful fish and coral.
A glass bottom boat is a fun excursion for the whole family. Part of the bottom of the boat is made of glass, so you can look at the sea and fish without getting wet. This is especially fun for the very young who cannot swim very well yet but who are curious about life under water. Are you ready for a party on the water? Then board a party boat for an unforgettable party. Would you rather be at the helm yourself? There are numerous options for renting a motorboat and for real speed demons, renting a jet ski is the ultimate experience on the water.

5. Holiday villa for the best holidays
Perhaps the most important part of your holiday is the accommodation you stay in. There is nothing like a nice place where you and your family or friends can retreat to after a wonderful day spent holidaying. And sometimes you just want to take it easy for a day and stay in your holiday home. Imagine staying in that perfect home where your children can play in the garden and pool while you relax and read a book. Where you can light up the BBQ with friends in the evening and enjoy the balmy Spanish evenings while having a snack and a drink?
At Club Villamar you are guaranteed to find the holiday villa of your dreams. From small, intimate homes to large houses for up to 20 people. Often the villas even have a private pool so you can spend quality time with your family and friends. Secure yourself a lovely spot and experience the ultimate holiday under the Spanish sun.
