Ibiza was once untouched island that consisted of rural villages, wooded hills and olive grooves. Only recently, around 1960s, the place had converted into a holiday hotspot famous for glamorous retreats and hippie getaway.
Though Ibiza is now known as a party Island, the old town of the place still has a provincial time wrap and maintains its rural charm. Ibiza is a great place to visit especially away from high season in case you want to venture beyond the common tourists trails and discover the unspoiled beaches, rocky coves, Baroque architecture and crumbling farm houses.

Aguas Blancas is a breathtaking secluded beach that has some excellent swimming facilities. You can also enjoy windsurfing in Es Cavallett that is situated in the island’s southwest.
Portal de ses Taules can be visited if it is the cultural aspect of the place that interests you. The place is known for a church named Esglesia de Santo Domingo. The church is famous for frescoed walls and Baroque interiors. Portal de ses Taules is also known for a museum that contributes to contemporary art and a 13th century cathedral. The soil of Ibiza has always been considered holy by Citizens of Carthage. There are approximately 4000 graves that have been housed in here.
Towards the north of Ibiza, Els Amunts’s flatlands have been sowed with almond trees and figs. The town is just perfect to give you an insight of Ibiza’s rural past. Most of the villages have narrow winding alleys, whitewashed villas and watchtowers and serve a number of folks dance displays, especially in the summer months.
