The currency of the country used to be Spanish peseta but from year 2002, Euro is used as its currency. If you are a shopoholic then you must know that the markets in the city are closed for 2 hours in the  afternoon. The shops again open around 4 pm and are opened till 9 in the night. There are many large shopping centres that are opened throughout the day.
