Places of interest in Spain – Murcia Costa Calida
Spain is rich in natural beauty. The vast Mediterranean Sea, the majestic mountains, rich vegetation, great rivers and buildings which speak of the great history and culture is something astounding. Mere words fail to explain this beauty. Just visit at least one of the places in Spain; you will be convinced about its richness in nature. Every place in Spain is of importance for tourists. Murcia Costa Calida is one such place which is frequented by most of the tourists.
The beach for example can be just called a heaven. The stunningly tall mountains jealously stare at the sea. Oleanders, palm trees and the beautiful seagull beautify this stunningly beautiful sea. In between this sea and the mountain is the plain land which is rich in vegetation and is the most popular vegetable garden. Just visit Murcia Costa Calida; you will love this place.
El Horinillo Landing stage is another place of interest. This place is just at a distance of about 2 kilometers from the town. Even this place has a history. During the 19th century, British South Eastern Railway Company built an iron pier which was used for loading iron ore into the ship. Although the pier is not in use now, it has now become a place of historical importance and the government has declared this place as a historical place.
A Museum called the ‘Cartagena Roman Theatre’ which is believed to have been designed by the then famous architect Rafael Moneo was actually hidden for several centuries. It was later excavated and salvaged. The museum is divided into two parts where in one part materials of archeological importance are displayed.
The other part contains the famous Roman theatre which can accommodate about 6000 people. The building which now houses the museum is believed to have been built between 5th and 1st century BC. You will be just stunned by the works of art which are displayed inside the auditorium. The stage of the auditorium measures 43 meters in length.
Cartagena is popular for its Easter festival. The most popular Easter week attracts a large number of tourists. It is marked by religious fervor and devotion and many processions. This religious festival dates back to the 17th century.
Lorca castle is another important place of visit. Historians believe that this castle was built in the 13th century. They also believe that this castle was built by people of Arabic origin. From the top of this majestic castle one can have a beautiful view of the places around.
