Places of interest in Spain – Puerto Pollensa

Although this is a small town located on the north east side of Mallorca, it is unimaginably popular for its beach, mountains and the busy town. History says that this town was a part of the Roman Empire.

As a matter of fact, the beach of Peurto Pollensa is most popular for its vastness. The beach is maintained immaculately clean and that is the reason why it has become so popular amongst tourists. In fact this beach has earned the name ‘tourists’ heaven’. This beach is also popular for rare species of fish.

There are many water sports facilities including boating, fishing, diving and many other sports activities. It is also popular for many adventure sports. The beach has many restaurants and bars where the tourists can relish many specialties of Spain including the most famous wine.

Running along the beautiful beach are the rows of mountains which stand with a most stunning beauty. The tall mountain actually runs along the beach. Some of the villages are also located on these mountains. The villages can be accessed by road and even on foot. The view of the beach and the surrounding place from the top of the mountain is something which cannot be explained. It is just beautiful.

For the convenience of the visitors many villas have come up around these villages. These are luxurious villas which have all the facilities like sports, trekking, private swimming pool, etc. Of course one needs a car to reach the villas. The villages are also known for their beautiful narrow roads and traditionally designed houses.

For shopping one has to drive down to the town which is just about 10 minutes drive. In the town there is a church which is known for its marvelous work of architecture. Sunday mass is held apart from the daily service. Normally no visitor misses this church. Those who stay during Sunday also make it a point to visit the Church. This church is believed to have been built during the Roman period. The church has a chapel which also attracts many tourists.

Many tourists make regular tours to this popular tourist spot ‘Peurto Pollensa’. The place is most ideal for those who want to spend their holiday in a quiet environment. Many villas have come up along the beach. These villas are available at different rentals suitable for various categories of tourists. In fact this town is attracting more and more tourists.
