Sant Antoni de Calonge general
This former fishing village is located in the Baix Empordà region in the province of Girona. It is situated on one of the most famous costas in Spain, the Costa Brava. Since the 1970s, this coastal town has developed into a modern seaside resort. Sant Antoni de Calonge lies to the west of Palamos and slightly south of the resort of Calella de Palafrugell. At the Plaza Mayor, enjoy a drink on the terrace while taking in all the historical sights of the city. Calle Mayor is home to many quaint shops. The church Iglesia de Sant Martí has been declared a cultural heritage site and is located a stone’s throw away from the Plaza Mayor. What to do in Sant Antoni de Calonge?

1. Water sports
The bay of Sant Antoni de Calonge is the perfect place for water sports such as sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, snorkelling, kayaking or fishing. In the southern part, the main beach Torre Valentina is home to the Sant Antoni Sailing Club. Here you can practice Patí de Vela, a typical Catalan sailing activity on a catamaran. 2. Hiking trails
One of the most beautiful promenades in Calonge begins at the Torre Valentina beach. The promenade runs parallel to the Mediterranean and winds through spectacular pine forests and beautiful beaches.
You will also find a number of important dolmens and menhirs here. Marked out hiking trails take you through beautiful forests, past several dolmens, beaches and historical monuments.
3. Cala del Pi

Looking for peace and romance? The rock formations Cala de Roques Planes were created by the waves. This intimate beach can only be reached on foot or by boat.

Catalan gastronomy in Sant Antoni de Calonge
Catalan cuisine is rich and varied. Mainly Mediterranean dishes are served with fish, seafood, fresh vegetables, olives, rice, pasta and olive oil. Traditional Catalan dishes to try are bread with ham or chicken, toasted bread with olive and tomato tapenade and tortillas. On the Costa Brava, you must try the sardines, which are prepared in all sorts of ways: from grilled sardinas à la plancha to pickled preserves. And, of course, the tasty tapas and paellas are also well worth trying!
Spaniards love good food and they eat as often as five times a day! They eat later than average the European. They have lunch between 2pm and 4pm. And the evening meal is eaten around 8.30 p.m. in winter and often not until 9.30 p.m. in summer. Therefore, restaurants in Spain are open later than usual.
