This former fishing village is located in the Baix Empordà region in the province of Girona. It is situated on one of the most famous costas in Spain, the Costa Brava. Since the 1970s, this coastal town has developed into a modern seaside resort. Sant Antoni de Calonge lies to the west of Palamos and slightly south of the resort of Calella de Palafrugell. In the southern part, the main beach Torre Valentina is home to the Sant Antoni Sailing Club. Here you can practice Patí de Vela, a typical Catalan sailing activity on a catamaran. One of the most beautiful promenades in Calonge begins at the Torre Valentina beach. The promenade runs parallel to the Mediterranean and winds through spectacular pine forests and beautiful beaches.

Catalan cuisine is rich and varied. Mainly Mediterranean dishes are served with fish, seafood, fresh vegetables, olives, rice, pasta and olive oil. Traditional Catalan dishes to try are bread with ham or chicken, toasted bread with olive and tomato tapenade and tortillas.
