Sports in Spain

The Best places for your Activities

Whether you like to do some active sporting yourself or rather visit some sporting events and just have a look, Spain is well-known for all its sporting activities. Of course you can find an endless amount of options in water sports at the beaches of the Costa Brava, the Costa Blanca and the Costa Maresme. From diving to waterskiing, surfing and every variation you can think of. But Spain also is known as a country with a rich history in soccer. During your stay in a holiday villa, a visit to the FC Barcelona stadium is highly recommended.

Many of Club Villamar’s holiday villas are within a very reasonable distance of Barcelona. Here you can find Camp Nou, that is Europe’s largest soccer stadium that can hold more than a 100,000 soccer enthusiasts. Even a visit to the empty stadium gives a magical feeling, where you can really sense the extraordinary vibe the stadium has. You should also take a look around the club’s museum, where you can get a good overview of FC Barcelona’s interesting history.

Sport in Spain

At the end of the summer, Spain becomes the stage for the Vuelta, one of the three Grand Tours in the world of cycling. After the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia, the Vuelta also attracts many spectators each year, who come to see a large number of international cyclists. The stages also take place near the Spanish Costas and are a great destination for a day away from your holiday home. This way you’ll get a whole new view of the Costa Brava, Costa Blanca and Costa Maresme. You’d rather do some serious cycling yourself? You could bring your own bike to your holiday home and explore the areas yourself by bike.
