The best of Costa Brava
Costa Brava literally means “wild coast” and similar to its name its territory is known for its craggy shoreline in Barcelona. The little beaches here backed by some eroded cliffs bestows immense amount of beauty and charm that can attract just about anybody that is here for holidays.

Calella de la Costa is less scenic stretch and it lies north of Barcelona but it has some excellent sand beaches. A low-key development of the place has maintained its charm of being an old fishing village. Castellon de la Plana is another beach on the Costa del Azahar and is surrounded by beautiful orange grooves near Valencia.
Pals is yet another medieval village in Costa Brava that is known for its beautiful views and the 11th century ruins that are still present in Sant Pere de Rodes monastery. A 36-hole PGA Golf Catalunya in Caldes de Malavella is a boon for golfers and it finds its place in the Europe’s top 10 golf courses. Sitges, lying on the Coast Daurada towards the southwest of Barcelona, is quite famous for its architecture, art and festivals.
Costa Brava‘s Valencia is also famed for Peniscola which is yet another fortified medieval town. Knights Templar castle that is surrounded by sea on all sides is the main attraction of the place. Islas Medes which is a nature reserve near L’Estartit is known to have an exotic and most diverse marine life compared to any other water body in Spain. The water of Islas Medes is crystal clear and is considered a heaven for divers.
