It was a nice office were we had to show up to get the keys. But we arrived outside of the official key pick-up time. Hence there was a Lady waiting just for us. I guess during the official pick-up time things would be much more hectic. The Lady brought us then to the villa. She showed us the house and ensured the heating for the warm water was switched on. It was a quite fast hand-over, but we got all required information. So it was OK.
1 to 2 times per week the pool boy showed up and did some service to the pool.
Same thing applies to the gardener.
It’s a very silent area. There are no disturbing restaurants or bars around. The house is very spacious and has everything needed to support 8 people. It’s a beautiful house, although it’s a little bit older and a few repairs would be required to keep it in shape.
The property itself is quite large and there is a large garden in front of the house. So when being on the terrace and looking out to the sea, there is maybe 80-100 meters of garden and small tress before the property ends. As the villa is a little bit up the hill a there is has large flat area (garden) in front of the house, you have an awesome view to the sea and over Calpe.
The pool is absolutely awesome. On the side with the stairs it’s around 80 centimeters deep and it descends on the other side to maybe 2.2 meters or so. It’s therefore great for children and adults.
There is also quite some space around the pool so that walking around the pool is no problem.
It would have been nice to have some palm trees or similar next to the pool in order to have some shadow. But unfortunately this is not the case. There is only a palm tree stump on one side.
We also found the beds, mattresses and pillows of good quality, not too soft, which we appreciated very much. There is no air condition. But at least each sleeping room as a ventilator on the ceiling. And if you leave some dors and windows open during the night, the breeze will flow through the rooms and provide some cool-down.
Although the villa offers free WiFi, it is very unstable. This is not the fault of the rental office but a general problem in the area. I talked to other habitats of Calpe and they confirmed that their connection is very unstable too. Therefore browsing the web and instant messaging is OK. Facebook videos however often didn’t load correctly. And don’t even think of streaming video. The best I got was 1.5MB down and 3KB upload speed. But often it was much slower.
Although I already got all information via email, about 5 days before our vacation started I got a call from the main office in Barcelona (not the local office in Calpe) to ensure that I really had all information like local office address, emergency phone numbers, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to get such a phone call, as it shows that the company actually cares about the customer satisfaction.
Another positive thing I need to mention is that Clubvillamar’s homepage offers instant chat with a representative, even on weekends and late hours. This is absolutely awesome, as it saved me lots of emails going forth and back. Being able to instantly clarify details, features of the house, etc. is an awesome service and priceless for a potential client looking for a suitable villa.
We enjoyed very much our stay in the house and I can warmly recommend the villa.

This large villa of 250m2 is divided into three floors connected by an internal staircase. On the low floor there is a large garage and a bathroom with a shower outside. On the main floor we have three bedrooms (one with double bed and two with single beds) and two bathrooms (both with shower and one en suite). We have a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living room with fireplace. Upstairs there is a large bedroom with an en suite bathroom and a terrace overlooking the sea and the Penon de Ifach.
OUTSIDE: The villa is built on a large closed plot of 3600m2. There is a garden of palm trees around the house. We have a swimming pool with sunbeds and a covered, furnished terrace, where we can eat sheltered from the intense summer sun. From the terraces we have views of the Mediterranean Sea.
SITUATION: Situated in a quiet area of Calpe, called Carrio Alto. 5min driving from the sea and sandy beaches. Not to mention that in this famous town is the Natural Park of Penon de Ifach, which is a must.
