Villa Altair is situated in Pineda de Mar on the beautiful Costa del Maresme, which runs from Blanes through to the world city of Barcelona. This coastal region measures approximately 50 kilometres and is mainly made up of sandy beaches and steep cliffs, with a wonderfully temperate climate.

Pineda de Mar is a picturesque resort with a beautiful golden shingle beach, situated between the resorts of Calella and Santa Susanna. Along the wide beach, you will find several water sports options such as hiring pedalos, water-skiing and diving. The boulevard along the beach is great for a stroll but also offers many shops and opportunities to eat or drink at one of the many restaurants or terraces. Fridays see a weekly market taking place on the boulevard, where you can buy regional produce and artisan crafts and gifts. Pineda de Mar is not a centre for mass tourism or groups of young people, but in the high season it still feels nice and lively. The centre of town is closed to traffic, and its narrow streets with many cosy terraces, delightful restaurants, tapas bars and variety of shops are all centred around the small Melias square. In the centre, you will also find several historical buildings dating back to the 17th through to the 19th centuries.
